Sweet Almond oil is cold pressed from the dried kernels of the almond tree. It is pale yellow in color and has a light, sweet, and nutty smell. This oil is slightly viscous, but very oily; however, it is non-greasy. It is rich in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids. It also containsVitamins A, B1, B2, B6, E, and D.
It lubricates the skin and spreads easily; therefore, it is ideal for body massage and facial treatment as well. It helps in relieving skin irritation. It also softens and reconditions the skin.
It is an excellent emollient and is suitable for all skin types, most especially for sensitive and irritated skin. It helps in balancing the skin's moisture. It easily penetrates the skin. It is readily absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. It also makes the skin soft and satiny smooth.
It promotes clean, clear, and younger looking complexion. It alleviates and nourishes dry skin. It soothes sunburn and inflammation. It is said to relieve itching caused by eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and similar cases of dry, scaly skin.
It has also been used to ease irritation on baby's bottoms. When used in a regular basis, it is extremely nourishing to the skin.
It can be used as one of the main ingredients in soaps, lotions because of its excellent emollient properties.
